3K and History Day
2/7/13
On Monday, 3K had the fortune of spending part of science class at the 6th Grade History Day viewing projects that related to the theme of Turning Points that Led to Inventions and Innovations. The students watched two documentaries, "The Invention of the Piano," by Nico, and "From a Garage to the Leading Brand: Why Steve Jobs' Creation of Apple was a Turning Point," by Zev.
Following the documentaries, the students had an opportunity to view three websites, "How the Electromagnetic Telegraph Revolutionized Communication," by Ethan, "Louis Pasteur: The Discovery of Pasteurization," by Haley, and "The Art of Mixing," by Salim.
In addition, the students viewed several display boards, "The Cell Phone and Its Impact on Communication," by Charlize, "The Kodak Camera," by Anna, and "Jonas Salk's Polio Vaccine," by Lucy.
Finally, 3K was invited to Walter's paper entitled, "The Invention of the Printing Press: Moveable Type That Moved History."
An enjoyable and informative time was had by all!
