Human Ear
The 2nd grade students explored how the human ear operates. Ask your student to tell you how sound travels through solid, liquid, and gas in the ear!
Meena and Michele also worked with the students on healthy and unhealthy fats. Students looked up the amount of fat in a McDonalds' quarter pounder with cheese. We used margarine to simulate the fat content in the burger. Everyone was shocked!
Finally, to demonstrate food with healthy fat, Meena prepared fresh hummus for all of the students. It was so yummy, there were several recipe requests (coming soon)!
**Ask your fifth grader to tell you why the face muscles and the tongue are unique skeletal muscles. Also ask your fifth grader if they have a pacemaker.**
*3G will do this next week*
